The ‘Sudang’ Foundation was established in October 1968 by the honorary chairman of Samyang Group, Su Yong Kim, the founder of Samyang Group, and three brothers, Kim Sang-hong, Kim Sang-ha, and Kim Sang-eung, and Samyang Group contributed. In addition to scholarship projects and research support, it expanded public service projects to various areas such as academic, social and cultural.

In addition, since 2006, the ‘Sudang’ Science Award, which began in 1973, has been inherited and developed into the ‘Sudang Award’ and expanded into three categories: basic science, applied science, and humanities, laying the foundation for the development of science and technology and academic development in Korea.
